Don't over-think the kalimba - use whatever you have at hand for the tines. I have used bicycle spokes, fishtape and a lot of other material but the majority of my builds were done with lawn rake tines. I picked up the rakes at Lowes or a "real" garden store rather than Wally World. Their stuff was so flimsy, it was pathetic. Remember - you're having fun!
Hi Ed, thanks for the friend request! In answer to your question, the best thing I can do is direct you to this website. They have tons of good info here on amps, home built effects, and wiring. http://www.beavisaudio.com/techpages/PedalPower/
This will explain how to wire a battery into the ac plug. Have fun!
hi ed. seen you on shane's friend list. i live near linesville . seen that you were pretty close. i just got done with my first build. your stuff looks great. mind if i send a friend request?
Hi Ed, I am very curious about how well your CBG's were received by the blue grass folks, did they like them ?? Did you sell any? I haven't been able to afford to go to any of the local festivals as they are more expensive than a rock concert - typically forty five bucks a head for one day around here. Seventy five for three days !! I can't fathom it being worth that kind of $$ Your feedback would be very valuable to me. Thanks Bill Ludeman
Welcome aboard, Ed! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).
