lawn mower battery power source

Hi all,
I want to use a lawn mower battery to run my amps. the power source that came with the amp is rated for 12 volts at 600 Ma. If I send the juice straight from the mower battery into the amp will it toast the amp ? I am looking to run 3 amps from the same battery for longevity and ease of recharging. hope someone here can help. thanks alot.

  • photos. we will want photos.... please?
  • sweet thanks tim. I upgraded the amp plan some. I found new 4 watt amps that run on 12 volts on ebay for $8.00 a piece including shipping. I cant build an amp that cheap so thats what I'm goin with now. Plus the amps have gain volume and tone controls. COOL !! I just gut the parts and will figure out what to do with the cases and speakers later.
  • You will be fine. 600ma on the original power source refers to the amount of current available from that source. The Voltage is what is really important. A lawnmower battery is 12 volts, just like your original source. The battery is capable of delivering more current, which is a not going to hurt your amplifier. If I recall, you are looking at powering (3) LM386 based amps, correct? If so, you will be able to play a LONG time before having the lawnmower battery die...easily a full 8 hours straight!
