Make a bridge similar to a lute ( no saddle)
hell yeah! play some metal. i built my cbgs cause i wanted to play some blues, but i quickly got bored with that and ended up doing what i always do. Rock the hell out of my guitars! if i can do it anyone can.
I wish I had sent my comment as a private message, but what's done is done.
Still, the most important thing is that the original issue is now resolved (I hope that's most important).
I'm happy to see that.
We all have our days when nothing but a rant will do. ;~)
I could understand your "fret rant" if the discussion were about politics or your grandmother's sexual improprieties, but the discussion is about frets on a fretted instrument.
What makes it doubly disconcerting is that YOU recently asked "how did you make the neck look as it does with the sandwiched bits in the middle?" in regards to a laminated neck. I've been doing laminates for years. Should I be offended by your question? No, because I had to ask once myself. Why is your question justified, but a discussion involving the actual mechanics of an instrument invalid?
I mean this constructively. I'm not trying call you out. There is plenty of room here for all discussions, from the (near childlike) basics to "Using an inside micrometer to attain sound hole diameters within .003mm tolerance for optimum Masonite resonance"
Lighten up.CBG10 The main neck is made in three pieces glued together.Maple/Purpleheart/Maple.
The fretted fingerboard, 4mm narrower than the neck, is glued on top and the edging added.
Strips of 4mm purpleheart and 2mm maple were glued together and strips cut off the edge to make the fingerboard edging.
Hope this answers your question
