Anyone tried to use powered computer speakers for an amp? Any reason for them not to work? I'm thinking about getting a subwoofer set that has a microphone jack, pulling the guts and putting the whole thing into a (large) cigar box with a 1/4" jack
Okay I have two single coil pickups, with individual volumes, and no switch too choose between them.
I turn one around and reverse it's leads.
And they're both going to the same jack.
Would this work, and would it be constantly humbucking?
hey guys, im making my first cbg and im a bit out of depth, i went to make it an electric with a singlecoil pickup, a volume and a tone and im confused, what is a capacitor, how do I connect it and how do i ground them to the bridge like my diagram
Alright, I went to my local radio shack yesterday and got the cheapest piezo buzzer they had (4 bucks) and a 2 pack of 1/4" jacks. I have soldered my wires to the buzzer and to the jack but when I plug it into my amp to try it out all I get is awful
Prety new to this cbg thing and wanting to put power to my first creation.
Got a piezo kit and am pretty good at soldering, so that's not a biggie.
But i'm trying to wrap my noodle around the concept of impedance and what effects it will have on my w
Cleaning out some closets the other day I found some old corded phones. Tore them apart and saved the mic and earpieces. Anyone use these in a CBG? I'm thinking that old AT&T parts were pretty high quality to last for so many years and I remember
I'm a total newbie. On my first CGB I installed a transducer I bought at Radio Shack. It sounds okay except for that it picks up the slightest touch of the sound board.
I've done a number of rudimentary electronic work on my previous builds. I now want to take an upcoming build to the next level, and I need some advice, as I may be flying a bit too close to the sun.
Anyone ever use these? When I began my first build, I bought a few different types of pre-wired setups off Ebay and got one of these. I've seen similar ones on YouTube designed with the bridge laid directly on the wood on top of the soundboard. Just
Hi guys I have just started to build my second cbg and have just bought this TELE HOT RAILS pick up off e bay,it is only a cheap one but I don't intend spending a lot of cash until I become more experienced.
I have a prewired acoustic preamp to a mono jack with an on/off switch that activates when guitar is plugged in. Can I just wire a magnetic pickup to a vol pot and then solder to the same jack and turn the vol pot up or down to select mag or piezo? j
My latest build has a Tele pickup, around which I added a gold metal ring. Everything's wired up, but when the 3-way knob is switched to the Tele pup, I'm getting a very slight static-y noise, and if I tap the ring with my pick, i can hear it through
I have very basic electronics knowledge, but I thought this should work ...
I found a pair of very old, powered speakers that came in plastic cases. The kind you plug into a PC, but with decent sized speakers. Good candidates I thought for putting in
Electronic newbie here. Bought a CBG Electronics kit from C.B. Gitty for my first build. All works well when the volume is turned all the way up "10", but it goes dead at about "7". The kit comes with a 500K Ohm pot. Should I try a different Ohm
