"I Love It!!!
I just finished a similar project with a Soresto flea collar tin.
I should have put in a pick up.
Mine has surprisingly good tone but  very little volume."

I friend gave me this awful piece of ukulele. Fixing it up is a fool's errand but I'm having a great time working on it and I really believe that it's going to sound good when I'm done. Here is a befor and after picture.

  • "Thanks for taking the time to look and post favourable comments on some of my builds Rob, muchly appreciated, somewhere amongst all those builds, there are 4 Uke's and 2 Banjoleles  :-)

  • Thanks Rob!

  • Hi Rob!   Thanks for the compliment.  I'm a ukulele man and just testing the CBG waters.  As for the dye, I spent about thirty bucks on Evil Bay.  Great stuff, but don't go buying some.  I still have lots remaining, so you can borrow some of mine.  Cheers, Bookie

  • Thank you, Rob. You, too. I mostly like making them. When I play it's usually a little baritone that's got a Spruce top, Rock Maple sides and back, a Maple neck and Sapele fretboard. The Rock Maple was a bitch to bend (I do it by hand over a heated cast iron pipe), but it has a really bright tone. I'm curing an all-Koa instrument now. Very excited about that one. Take care! Larry

  • Thanks Rob

  • Thanks Rob, likewise you build some very high end 4-stringers!

  • I hope you meant to say nice looking. : )

If so, thanks Rob! I dig your stuff too, your Risa uke is particularly awesome.
