What do I need to do to ground my strings? Do I solder a wire to the back of the pot and then ground it to the bridge? If so, does it matter which pot I solder to?

Very nice Bill., I just wish I had that much talent
Thanks Bill, the cone and cover are a ukulele set
This was my first guitar build, although I own several CBGs. Thank you for the kind words. Sterling, VA is about 20 miles northwest of Washington, DC. in Loudoun County, Virginia.
Hey Bill,
I was just checking out your pictures. The quality of your workmanship shows.
Great job.
Hey Bill, thanks and nice to meet you. AWESOME lap steel!
Hi Bill,
Mike Lohrengel here I got an e mail from Rick Weber and he and his wife Sharon will not be back to Quakerstown until mid September. They are staying at their cottage in NEW FREEDOM - sorry I had been calling it NEW HOPE - anyhow the church he is a fill in pastor at is in Coopersburg on Allentown Road - it is called the LOCUST VALLEY CHAPEL and is close to the Locust Valley Country Club and Gold Course. Once he gets back to Quakertown and gets settled back in I will get the two of you gentlemen together so you can chat. Have a great day - keep looking at your photos and those guitars are absolutely beautiful - where do you find your resonaters at? I really like your sound hole styles as well. and the inside support is really nice. Looks like you do a lot of screwing and less gluing - not so sure how that sounded but you know what I mean. Have a great day young man.
Hi Bill,
Wow you do have some heat up there. Not too good to hear the heat in Texas as next month I am participating in the 7th annual Cigar Box Blues Festival in Albert, Texas about 25 miles from Fredericksburg in the Hill Country. It is an all day event from noon until 11 pm - at least I will have an inside spot so I hope they have air conditioning as it is in an old Dance Hall and Ice House from years ago and Albert is pretty much just a ghost town now - about 4 miles from Stonewall, Texas. Try to stay cool or else keep a lot of iced beer or beverage of choice close by.
Hi Bill,
Rick Weber is still at his summer cottage in New Hope on the church complex. I will send him a message sometime to day and get the name of the church in Quakertown and send it to you later. Yes the Reverend Blue Jeans and I had a good time although sales were slow but you cannot always sell everything when you want to. I am like you in that my mentor (REVEREND BLUE JEANS) is patiently teaching me to play and what is scarey is that sometime I can actually recognize the song I am playing. Headed to the shop this afternoon to continue on build #23 as it has become much more intense than I had initially thought it would be, but then you know when you "think outside the Cigar Box" you never know what you will actually run into so that is why I like the craziness of this CBG building -" fun, fun, fun till Daddy takes the T-Bird away"
Have a great day Bill. Enjoy that PA weather it has to be a lot cooler than it has been here in Oklahoma lately.
Hey Bill,
Rick Weber and I were in the Air Force together during the Viet Nam era. We met at Eglin AFB in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. I introduced him to his first wife Rita who was a friend of a gal I was dating at the time. Sadly after they married Rita passed away giving birth to their second child. Rick had several rough years and then met Sharon his present wife and they had two girls. Rick's first daughter is now in California and his son Luke lives in a township not far from Quakertown.
I had a couple of other buddies from Pennsylvania in the service but lost track of them one was Jim Skelly from Pittsburgh and the other was Stan Worley from Allentown. Rick work for Merck for about 30 years and retired a few years back. I do not recall the name of the church in Quakertown where he is an assistant pastor but have attended it a few times when I was up visiting - I know he and Sharon have a summer home/cabin on a church complex in New Freedom, PA. as I spent time there with them. I am looking at some of your builds as I am writing this and my friend you work is fantastic - hope to reach that level someday as I have only been building for about 4 months and have completed 22 builds - 8 amplifiers and 14 guitars mostly electric and a few acoustic.
I hope to met you this coming year when I will definitely get to Pennsylvania - it is beautiful country there and Rick always takes me to 3 places - Lancaster Valley, Bucks County and the Poconos - have a great evening sir and carry on that great building of those fantasic cigar box guitars
Bill,
Thanks for the "friend" request - gladly accepted - I think your builds are much superior to mine at this point - would really enjoy getting to see yours up close when I get up to Quakertown. My friend's name is Rick Weber, he grew up in Quakertown and has lived there most of his life. He is retired from a major pharmacuetical company in your area. He is also very active in his church and is an ordained minister. His wife's name is Sharon - they have two grown daughters Melissa & Rebecca.
It would be very cool if you knew Rick - short, stocky, very much into coins, milk bottles, and other types of collectibles. I am going to send him a message and see if he knows you.
Again Bill glad to make your acquitance and thanks for your comments on my builds.
