pickup wire size

I looked and didn't see anything so here i go

Can I use wire bigger than 42 gauge wire to wind pickups?

would 200ft of 30 gauge work?

One more question were is the best/cheapest place to get 42 guage wire?

tone pot cap

I have a cap with a snapped wire. It looks like the easiest thing would be to replace it. I have one sitting around I took off a sony 3 way speaker box, will this work or is there a specific type that needs to go on the pot?
