Good article on pickup simulation from AMZ-FX, written by guitar electronics guru Jack Orman. Basically you can use any pickup, simple enough right? He even makes reference to CBG’S & 3 pole CBG pickups, give it a try someday?
Guys, after assembling yet another 3 stringer with one pick up, one volume pot, and one tone pot, something is amiss. Have never had this issue before. Static noise is heard when the guitar is plugged in, but there is no volume coming from the amp.
I vaguely remember mention of this on some youtube video, somewhere, in order to provide a 4-pole pickup for a 4-stringer, but I can't find the video in question and may even be misremembering who it was (likely!).
Already in the middle of my build and was going to use a Piezo with a volume knob and jack combo, but just recently got one of Marty Tauber's Wickedbucker, Is there a way to incorporate the wickedbucker into the schematics? Maybe even use a power s
Ready to start my next build and going through the planning stage at the moment. I’m trying to use up spare parts I already have rather than buying more stuff. Got to keep costs down.
Here’s the question anyway. I’ve got a Telecaster neck pickup and
I have a query about an amplifier I have just acquired, a second hand Roland Cube X20 . It’s in really good condition and all it’s features work fine but when I plug in the jack, before it’s connected to the guitar, I get a distinct hum. Thi
Up to now I've done all my own soldering etc but recently I've been looking on-line at pre-wired harnesses. Almost all of them include a toggle switch. Why would you need one with just one volume and one tone pot? Do they serve a useful purpose
I just finished a 3 string. I added the “psycho Knob” from CB Gitty. when I try to get amplification, the PK must be on the pass through mode or in other words, no distortion or effects. It should have been pretty simple. Input to the PK comes fro
Trying to "hum-proof" my latest build and read somewhere that the jack output leads should be shielded. Can't get shielded cable so am considering wrapping the wires with copper foil tape. I imagine the tape around the ground wire would itself have t
I've just completed my third build (second with electronics) and have a problem., Both units have a mini humbucker pickup, volume and tone pots, both 500's. The first one I did had a 22 cap and, because I thought that's where I thought the problem m
I've been trying for two days to air a problem on the "electronics and Wiring" page but keep getting the message "We're sorry, we are having an issue with this page. Follow this link to the main page.
Not posted on CBN in a while but glad to see that things are still going strong!
I need some help if you don't mind me asking. Can someone point me to a wiring diagram for two single coil pickups using 1 volume pot, 1 tone pot and a three way
