Hello everyone, I had bought a Black Ice single coil from CB Gitty, (Not the black cube capacitor from Stewmac).
I noticed it came with 3 wires; Red, White and Bare. Last time I saw this kind of wiring were for some EMG active pickups. I don't think the Black Ice pickup is an active one, nor does it say it on their website. But it does say Red=positive, White=negative and bare=ground.
I plan to pair the Black Ice with CB's Dual Rail pickup on my build but not sure about the Black Ice's wiring.
Do I combine the red and white for a hot signal or am I supposed to really connect a battery to it?
Thanks in advance, I really like to know, now that my build is still in its infancy, I may need to make a cavity for the battery.

Thomas is correct. Red = positive, white/bare = negative/ground.
Thank you kind gents, Duck, David, Brian and the one and only Ben Baker!
You guys saved me a lot of work and headache.
The bare wire is the shield wire, also negative, so join that with the negative wire?
+1 to Thomas Petry's answer.
I'm not the best source of information on electrical stuff, but I believe you need to hook the red as output (positive) and the white and bare will both go to ground.
