  • Sounds like a great idea, I'll give that a try.

I have been thinking of doing the same thing. In doing some experimenting.....  But because of the feedback problem consider a separate inclosure OUTSIDE of the CBG, in other words plug the amp. into a speaker box via a stereo jack.
  • Thanks guys, you all have been very helpful, I will try your suggestions and let you know how it turns out.
  • I just built the Noisy Cricket

but in a separate cigar box. It sounds great with the piezos! I would not install it inside the cbg, because the close proximity of the speaker and the piezo would cause it to feedback very badly. The speaker makes the box vibrate and the piezos pick that up.

  • This won't solve the feedback problem, but you'll get a better sound out of the piezo if you use a design like the Ruby for the amp. It's only a couple of parts more which includes a preamp section that can handle the high impedance of the piezo better.

  • It should drive it okay, but if I remember correctly, someone here did this and got nothing but feedback.
