  • Thanks for that, Petey. I am not sure if it has a built-in buffer, but the only pedal I have is a Danelectric chorus pedal. I will give it a try and see if there is a difference.
  • Thanks Petey, All the help is much appreciated.
  • Petey ... Re: Craig Anderton (in case you miss it in the 'goes to 11' thread).

  • You asked about how I check my soldering with a multimeter. I maybe should have made my explanation clearer. I have a multimeter that has a continuity test function built in - if you put the probes either side of a joint then it beeps if there's a good electrical pathway between them. In some circumstances I also sometimes check the resistances between points in a circuit to make sure they're as per the design and there aren't shorts.
  • Thanks Petey, I'm going to try a different amp kit (simplier than the one I've been labouring over). I did take the CBG to my local guitar shop at the weekend and they played it on a proper amp - it sounded great even with piezo pickup. I'll certainly take your pre-amp suggestion to heart if the new set up is still too weak. MC
  • Thanks, PT!

The Danelectro stuff is available at the Best Buy chain in the larger metro area near me, and I noted they were inexpensive...

I was looking at PT2399 IC's and to pay someone $15 for a PC board and then buy the parts...it might be better to get a Danelectro & do what you said (I haven't priced them however...the Danelectro graphic EQ was only about $25, but a delay IS a different animal)...

I couldn't imagine why a CB radio would have that, then I realized I've some really awful audio from some CB radios on the airwaves years ago...I dismissed it as some kind of weird individual thing, but it must be popular if they are manufactured and sold...I don't understand why, however :O)
  • Welcome aboard, Petey! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBB, CBU, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).

    Most of all, have fun!

    Tres.
