Thank you for the quick response, yes thats just what I thought. The square bowls from the philippines are about 10 1/2' sq and about 2' or more deep.
Roger
How loud are your blues bowls with the neck on the lid, is the neck glued to the neck for more sound. I can get square wooden bowls at Wal Mart from the Philippines my wifes country and thought of making a guitar out of that.
Thanks Roger
hi raymond. nice to hear your builds.
i would like to add some of your sound to the playlist at WCBN. check out the page and if you are interested let me know.
Beautiful work.
By the way - don't worry about adhering to the official "cigar box" construction . . . you'll always be welcome here, Ray - but, for God's sake put on some pants, will ya?
Hi Raymond Just been checking your bowl guitars out there great - i do a little woodturrning but not as much as i used to just dont have the time anymore but i still have my lathe and the chisles, chucks ect: would never sell them i do aim to get back into turning
Very cool and distinctive instruments. You've got a low-tech ovationish look happening with wood instead of plastic/fiberglass. I like them and am looking forward to watching your designs evolve.
raymond,if you look at my profile i built about ten guitars before i ever got my hands on a real cigarbox,so you got some real cool looking projects going on, all solid wood with distinguishable characteristics to them, you have made a statement with your designs. i like these guitars, the only thing i have in resmblance is a brass lamp guitar.it was fun to build but i,ll bet it was not as fun to build as one of your guitars. good work man.
