In the end it was easy and cost about right, however if you are bound and determined to learn about electronics this will not do it, basically a hook it up to a speaker, add a box and some knobs and you are done like dinner.
Cheers Ron."
Is there any chance you can post a picture of how you wired them up into a CigarBoxAmp? I've been having trouble getting one made, and if this helps, I think I'm going to go this route. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
thank you sir for your comment about the tri-cone sound check vid--yes i search for different tones and usually find them.so the sound is what i look for in a progress build.
Thank you Ron for your interest. Do you know I currently offer, free 4 string CBG lessons here on my group? If you would like to get a better understanding, I would suggest CD 1 and CD 2. Although they are geared for a 6 string, you will quickly see how it is the application of open tuning that makes it easy to alter these lessons from Open D 6 string (DADf#ad) to 4 string (Df#ad) on CD 1 and complimenting the free lessons nicely from Open G 6 string (DGDgbd) to 4 string (Dgbd) on CD 2. The strings on the guitar are the same, you just change the tuning. In addition, if you build a 6 string CBG someday, you will be good to go too. Please feel free to write if you have further questions. Enjoy, Keni Lee

The possibilities are endless.
EAD tune DAD
ADg tune GDg
Dgb tune Df#a
gbe tune gbd
How do you want to tune is the question? Enjoy, Keni Lee
It's all about the enjoyment of making it..I find.
I have access to a nice workshop too and have friends with lathes so can do some very rudimentary metal work . Hence the bit of brass as the bridge.
Look forward to seeing / hearing your output soon
All the best
Mark
