Craft Box Mando Uke

I used the medium size of 3 nested craft boxes. Look to be made of 1/16" bent veneer (maple ?) I stained it and burnt it with a torch so it wouldn't look so white and new.

    I've come to like those banjo-style bridges.  Sometimes I put a piece of fret wire along the top with little string notches filed in.  Nice build, Jim!

    Thanks Dave. This is my first time taking a torch to a build. I'll know next time to torch first and then stain since the stain kept catching fire! Or... maybe that helped with the look?

    Yeah Unc, since banjos were my first builds I sort of got in the habit of that style. I've used bolts for bridges on some builds but usually not on instruments meant to be acoustic. I don't think a bolt would take much away from the tone but haven't experimented yet.

    Good way to do it.  I've never made a banjo style bridge.
