  Hi Jim,

  I like the idea of a paper overlay for the sound hole. It's something that I have thought about but as my instruments are predominantly built to be used electronically, I rarely use a 'conventional' sound hole. Don't think that you have to 'move on' to 4 strings. 3 strings are seemingly used by the majority of CBG players and they do it well. 4 strings are just a bit different.

  I shall be at Cambridge, not sure about getting to Boxstock. Playing at Lincolnshire day of folk event in a couple of weeks

  Hi Jim,

  I guessed that your guitar might be a Chickenbone special due to the price. These are great guitars that will allow you to learn a lot.

  I prefer 4 string instruments in the cigar box style. Will you be attending any cigar box events later this year?
