hi Ryan
I use Diamond cut-off wheels on my dremel there's nothing they wont cut through and out last the dremel cut-off wheels 10 fold - have a look on ebay for them there also cheaper than dremel wheels
best to wear a dust mask when cutting Brass as the dust from brass tastes like crap when it gets to the back of the throat
Happy building bro

Good effort Ryan it's good to experiment with stuff i'm sure it will turn out fine - the middlton hotel we all stopped at had some Copper bed warmers on the wall i was playing around with it saying what a cool guitar or 1 string Diddley bow it would make - seems like you had the same idea will be good to see what you make of yours
yep i also need a belt sander very handy tool indeed - check them out on ebay lots to choose from
Catch you later mate
