Hi mike. Love your book. One question. On your black tabak bass what type strings are used and did you employee a truss rod. I'm looking to build a three string fretted .. I'm thinking of using the three highest bass strings. And what's the scale? Thanks
Thanks for writing. If I was interested in buying, say, 4 fretted fretboards from you, what would it cost?
What if I wanted fretboards and/or necks with the tilt-back headstocks?
I am mostly interested in necks and fretboards.
Also, I was wondering if you had any types of string bridges that you recommend. I am interested in maybe some sort of wooden bridge with a bar-type transducer in it.
Hello! My name is Kevin M. Kraft, founder of the annual Kansas City Cigar Box Guitar Festival. First, I love your work!!! I only dream of being so creative. Actually, it's just equipment that I lack, but that's a story for another time.
This year's event will take place on August 26th, and once again I am accepting cigar box guitars and cigar box guitar-related donation, which will be raffled off during the festival, the proceeds to benefit Kansas City's Blues in the Schools program. WHAT BETTER CAUSE than to teach young people about the blues and its place in American music? If you have guitars, accessory, CDs, DVDs, books--anything related to cigar box guitars that you would like to donate, please contact me at the Cigar Box Nation or email me at kevinmkraft@juno.com to learn where to send it. Last year we had some wonderful and surprising donations from here and across the pond. Maybe you’ll favor us with one of your own.
Hi Mike, bought your book and made my first guitar using a sweet(candy) tin in my lunch break.I don't play but my brother reckons it was ok.
Used it for reference on my second one ,see my pics, Used fret plan from book ! Tin again ,there a lot easier to get for free over here than box's. Thanks to your book i've got a new hobby, plan to make at least five more tin guitars then going to make my own box's.
