I am interested in a project of converting an old boom box to an amp. I can see how to easily wire into the volume pot on a twist knob control. How would you do it on a slider?
Still chasing the best method for getting the perfect scarf joint cut. Looking at miter saws online this morning and seeing "angle stop at 15 degrees" so i thought oohh perfect!
But then i thought about it.. that would be a short 15 d
Hey all.
I hope you're having a good week! I've got a few quick questions if someone could help me?
Do bass guitars use the same potentiometers as electric guitars?
Would I still use a 250k pot for a single coil and a 500k with a humbucker?

Hey guys, got the humbuckers (cream/black and white/black.) Not sure about the wiring. There's red-black and white coming out. I'm just installing one, not the matching pair. Anyone has an schematic?
I have purchased a few 3 string single coil pickups,pre-wired W vol/tone and jack. 2 of them have an extra ground wire, the other 2 do not? What is the extra ground used for?

Is there a general rule of thumb for choosing strings? How do you know what maximum gauge your guitar will take? If it doesn't have a magnetic pickup should I be using acoustic guitar strings exclusively?
I made a git for the Plumbers Challenge and decided to post the build here.
Awhile back, I had thought about building a guitar that was made out of PVC for a "Tubulum" acoustic effect. So the build challenge was the excuse I needed.
I like the look of the fret board overlaying the cigar box where the neck joins the box (like on a six string guitar) rather than having the board stopping at the point where the neck connects to the box. It presents some challenges in the build tho
After building a dozen CB Ukes, I came across a beautiful 48" long piece of Redheart lumber that I couldn't bear to cut down for a uke. So I found a bigger cigar box on vacation in NOLA (a "Cuban Spliff"; only a crazy CBGer brings home an empty cigar
I have tin can about 4" diameter and about 12" length, it seems fairly sturdy, and I fancy having a go at building a canjo, but really have not much idea about how to. Any ideas, suggestions etc would be most welcome. thanks in advance
