  • My guess is those are newer version pickups and the extra ground wire is for shielding or the pickup casing/backing plate has a separate ground in case of needed wiring reversal fro RWRP applications.

    Haven't had one of those pickups before, so I can only guess. A detailed picture would be helpful.

    • Thank You very much for the diagram ,still not sure what to hook it to if I have a wooden bridge? and why there is none on the other 2 ?

    • Magnetic pickups need to have the bridge, or your your case the strings grounded, otherwise you will have an annoying hum.  Piezo pickups need no ground.

      Here's an example, the ground wire is simply sandwiched under the hinge.
