Newbie questions reg. tuning for a 4 string

I finished up my first CBG this weekend (only took 3 months of on-and-off work!).  I definitely made some rookie mistakes, including with the box, so switched to another cigar box mid-build.  Luckily that was before I notched the neck so it all worke

Thin box or thick?

I have a fairly thin Ashton box, about 1.25" inside. What would it do to the sound if I add another 1.25" to the thickness so it is a full 2.5" thick inside. This would increase the inside volume from 100 sq in to 200sq. in., plus making it deeper. W

I don't know how many people would be interested in chatting on voice, but I have set up a temporary voice chat server using Teamspeak 2. Teamspeak 2 is commonly used for gaming and other conference call type situations.

Attempts at wiring my first piezo have, unfortunately failed!  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I used the wiring diagram below. I used the input jack as pictured.

Well, while trying to retrofit my first build with a pickup, I--uhhh--used a little too much tool and not enough patience.  I managed to completely shatter the box top..and the neck.  Better if you don't ask...
