We will miss you Dan...I will never forget "Dan Dan the Anti Spam Man" all the hidden work that went behind the scenes to keep this place ticking..and constant fight against spam and hacking. Also the man behind the scenes who helped level the tracks on the Rolling Stones Tribute album and was always so helpful to everyone. Rest in Peace
I will miss Dan as much as anyone on CBN... I've been using his pickups for several years now and I remember one time I had someone wanting one of my cbgs but I didn't have a pickup on it and money was really tight then. I asked Dan if he could ship. me one as soon as I sent him the money. He said go ahead and order it and pay me when you can! It was about a week later when I sent the money but my pickup came much sooner with express shipping! That's the kind of man he was. Missing his pickups will be hard, missing the amazing man that built them will be missed so much more!
I worked with Dan at SunGard in Florida. After he was laid off and looking for another job, he started building cigar box guitars in his garage. He would ask me to come by and check them out, play them, provide player feedback, that kind of stuff. I bought his first 3-string Rocky Patel and still have it. He then built me a four string cbg customized to include a pickup. Soon after, he landed a job in DC and found his way closer to CBN. I sort of lost touch with him, but always remember his cool, calm demeanor and his technical abilities. You will be missed Dan.
