A song I’ve been playin’ since I heard Dave was ill. It’s not how I usually play. I don’t/can’t play like Dave. I don’t play slide. But I loved watching DaveLynas videos as he leaned back in his living room, out in the garden, or by the fire. I always watched his exaggerated index finger brushing and picking the strings. I tried to do that here.I only knew, or knew of, the man for a short time but his enthusiasm, kindness, creativity, and music - his days - affected mine.

That was Nice Rope, not near how he did it but nice that you did,us playing on and remembering him, strange how someone grows on you , you fellors live in the same land and never meet one and other, heard the news today and it happened yesterday, on a day that my sister celebrates her 40 years anneversery Dinner and party while your sad for the loss of a friend, Strange day's in a funny Old World! But we play on! and remember.
PS: I was wondering what song I would play for Dave. Right now, I don't know. Will the Cirlce Be Unbroken comes to mind. But I am saving that one for when my 93 year old momma passes. It will be hard to do. Maybe a hobo song for Dave.... Hmm.
Good tribute and play, Rope. Dave would have appreciated it. Heck maybe he is now or someday will. He had a very distinctive sound with a little irregular stumble to his play. I liked it.
