  • LOL, Dave.  I am slow witted this morning.   Very slow.  took me half a minute to realize what you meant about the G!

Thanks, James O.  It is done and plays and sounds  a lot like my Swamp Witch.   Pretty happy with it.   Will eventually get around to a photo and video.

  • I look forward to the finished article. I particularly like the CB ref on the plate. Pity it didn't have the G as well :)
  • That's gon na be a fine one Love that Relic look can just hear some good old gospel tune's coming from this one

  • Thanks, guys.  I tung oiled the wood and will most likely paint it black and then remove much of the paint.   Eric that weathered wood stain sounds good.  I will look for that next time I go to the big city.

  • cool, looks pretty weathered already...

  • Very nice!  I use a "weathered wood" stain that works very well for adding some age.  Sometimes I do a second quick wipe with ebony stain as well.

  • Thanks guys, now the pressure is on.   Will try to age the numbers neck and all. I tested the pickup and it seems good.

  • A good start is half the journey!

I seen these come by maybee they will suit the job, i agree whit all the above, but for ageing try some furniture wax, it comes in all kind wood colors, you can make it shine or leave dull,it goes over paint and serves the wood. The Ducks ideer will give it a SRV kind of sparkely front that maybee lets the light shine!! maybee something holy like,But its just the Plate that suits you well i think John !! Good Luck and have fun working on it !! Greeeettssszz A.D.

  • I would leave the dates on too John. You could make this guitar something of a political statement, play some protest songs on it.
