We lost early CBN good guy, Wes Carl on Friday

Wes was one of the early CBN folks, CBG makers and was well known for his suitcase amps and amps in general. The blue amp was a skate case amp that I had from Wes and later passed on to Downtown Vinnie.Wes was from Pennsylvania and retired to North Carolina maybe 5-6 years ago. He loved his wife, Kathy, and all his family. He played dobro and CBG dobro with a church group and loved to fish. He lost a long battle to a blood cancer. God bless him and those that care about him.

  •  Only just heard. Another good one gone. I remember Wes right back from when I first got into CBG's. Loved his suitcase amp builds. Seems he had a good life and good family around him. Knowing he was ill he seemed to make the most of the time he had, enjoying music, fishing and good food. Condolences to his family

  • Prayers to his family, another great builder has passed away.

  • Wow - sad to hear this.  We've unfortunately lost a few original CBN-types this year.  I'm sure he'll be sorely missed by his family and many friends.  Take solace in the belief that he's reunited with other friends and family, playing on amps that turn up to 11.  RIP, Wes...
