The original gifted, but!, graciously accepted Dusty Dirty Scruffy Wreck.It obviously started out life as cheap (unknown brand) Chinese Nylon Strung Classical Guitar, but as is so often the case, someone strung it with Ball End Steel Strings, which of course places too much tension on the Bridge, hence the usual type of damage caused.The plan for this one is to go back to Nylon Strings, ala Dave Lynas’s lovely Nylon Strung Slide Git “Carmencita”.

  • when they are resorected its allways better then cutting them up!  the latest i seen is a lamp made out  of one !

  • I think this is the 8th Junk Shop Rescue Type Build I've done, still have a Uke and a Kids size Type  rejects in the shed waiting for something to be done with them  :-)

  • I like wrecks.  I have a mandolin out in the shed that was gifted to me with the head broken off and hanging by the truss rod cover.  It is glued up and clamped and I will see later if the joint looks strong.  It may get reduced to a four stringer.
