The thin veneer on the back was virtually hanging off, and it was just a matter of lifting one edge and easily pulling it off.This resulted in a only a very thin flimsy layer of ply being left, so decided to strengthen it with some 4mm thick recycled Venetian Blind Slats.

"Thanks Maddog", have accumulated a lot of these Cedar Slats over the years, have used them in several previous builds, and still have a healthy supply stacked away in the shed. :-)
