Thanks Uncle John. I’ve been saving this box for some time. Now’s the time. The old neck I rehabbed might be a problem. It has a little twist in it. Very minor but it is a bit off “flat”. This developed after I shaved it down. I guess I released the tension locked in the wood. It will still work fine but will have a twist.
Thanks Vinnie. I love the neck shaping as my favorite part of building. I’ve been shaping with small Razor files from StuMack. Expensive but very good at shaping. They cut fast! I like the Poplar 1 1/2 square stock from Menards. I look for quarter sawn lumber for strait pieces. There’s often quarter sawn in each bin at the store.
Yes Daniel. Oil paint in this case. I’ve been using tube water color lately because it dries so fast but oil paint is better. It is more vivid and holds up to use.
