  • I LOVE THE OLD SCHOOL TUNERS / NICE JOB .... PEACE Arnie Rydberg
  • It's awesome. Very strong and solid looking. Nice job.
  • wicked job man
  • Thanks for your kind comments,
I think I'm going to roll out a few and call them BigBog Cigar Box Guitars.
I did kinda rush this one a little, but it's turned out exactly how I wanted it to "RAW".
If I could Play then I'd post a video, I'm going to refine the pegs, they look authentic but they just simply don't work when trying to tune it. Looks like i'm going to revert to banjo machine heads with a little modification to the headstock.
The Bridge idea came from Sea Sick Steve's CBG I saw it on TV. One issue with this spatula thing is that I bent countless screws and bradals trying to prevent the drill from skating all over the place, (have learned to ingrave now tho' with an electric drill) broke two metal drill bits and made another two masonary bits glow trying to drill the mounting holes, so probably best to invest in a proper centre punch and a stainless steel drill bit. Just some handy hints to you all.

  • NICE!
  • I love this build !! real oldie worldie looking.... and them pegs look great and the f holes look impressive too.
plus that spatula bridge......Just one cracking build mate.
  • Nice work and ingenuity ...
  • Alan,

nice piece of work there. The f holes look impressive. A different use of the "spatchlea" there. Do the friction pegs work O.K.? My father tried to get some home made pegs to work, but he changed to machine heads. I use adjustable friction pegs myself - like on a ukulele.
    Yellowbelly.
  • Is that a spatula as the bridge? Brilliant idea.
