Got three of these boxes off eBay years ago. The inspiration finally arrived to use one! There is no wood on this guitar. The box is vintage cardboard. All nonmetal components are 3D printed. The 2-piece neck is printed with Carbon Fiber infused PLA and has a 12" carbon Fiber rod inserted for stability. 20.5" scale length with the 5 (A) and 4 (D) strings from a classical guitar set (bought individually). Disc piezo pickup. The ribs on the lower wing are intended to stabilize the guitar on my leg and they work! (Lesson learned from the last version of these wings.) The Kluson locking tuners are really smooth.

Glad to hear it Kale! Since Thorsvik is Norwegian and my grandparents immigrated from Norway, it was a box I had to have when I saw it. I waited till I could build a guitar worthy of the box, and this may be as close as I can get!
LOVE IT DOUG!!!
Thanks for the high praise Uncle John! It does have that electric guitar look with a quasi mandolin style horn.
Beautiful. Great looking lefty. The electric guitar body type box extensions look great here.
Thanks Jonathan! It seems like every lefty guitar I build is a test guitar; I always have something to test out.
I started playing guitar right handed. Did not go so well. My buddy Eric at college who was teaching me to play remembered I was left handed and decided to reverse the strings. It made a huge difference in the rate of my progress. There is a reason right handed guitars are oriented the way they are.
Thanks Alan; glad you liked this one! It is a lefty and a test guitar. I am wear testing some classical guitar strings, so it will be my go to CBG for a while.
"Sweeeeeet Doug" looked a bit back to front at first look, but then remembered your a Lefty
This one is definitely fun to play BrianQ! Actually, the wings weren't part of the original plan. The first string up did not go well: action was too high as was the string tension on a new brand of strings, Not great playability. So ... I shortened the scale length by 1.5" (two frets) and reprinted a shorter neck and decided to update the wings for this box size. Well worth all the extra time, effort, and plastic.
Nice!!! You lefty's sure know how to have fun Love the curly upper bout, I bet it's light?
