Got three of these boxes off eBay years ago. The inspiration finally arrived to use one! There is no wood on this guitar. The box is vintage cardboard. All nonmetal components are 3D printed. The 2-piece neck is printed with Carbon Fiber infused PLA and has a 12" carbon Fiber rod inserted for stability. 20.5" scale length with the 5 (A) and 4 (D) strings from a classical guitar set (bought individually). Disc piezo pickup. The ribs on the lower wing are intended to stabilize the guitar on my leg and they work! (Lesson learned from the last version of these wings.) The Kluson locking tuners are really smooth.

Glad you like it Jonathan! There are always new ideas to try out.
The wings are not solid and they are not entirely hollow either. The printer uses an infill pattern and percentage. I'm using the default and I think it is 15 or 20 percent. Thanks for asking Alan!
Are the 3D wings solid or hollow ??
You noticed BrianQ! I've been experimenting with a strip of ribs on the bottom edge of a cigar box to keep it from sliding around on my leg and it helps. The first version of this wings design had the same problem, so I applied the same technique and it works.
That's different!!
