18 inch scale tenor uke with low G Aquila strings. I have not yet brought it up to tune and played it. Fingers crossed.

  • This looks killer low G ? Try both set John see what you like.

It's not easy to play and sing but it would be awesome if you and you wife sang this.

  • Looks like a beaut!

  • Oh, guys, it is a neck through, but the neck is half or more inches from the top.

  • Thanks much, Jim.   After hearing that, I will take the strings off the posts and start anew using not much excess.

  • Yeah Unc, those Aquila's stretch like twice as much as regular nylon. Even after bringing them up to pitch it''ll take about 3-4 days of tuning for them to stabilize. I usually start with the least amount of wrap I can get by with when starting them on the post. Look's real good!

  • Yeah, Ted and I see now that I should have allowed more height out of the head stock for the tuner posts- to hold all that wound string.

  • So true about nylon strings. I did a cb uke last month...took over a week for strings to settle, but unlike steel acoustic or electric guitar strings, nylons stretch forever...well, almost.

  • Thanks guys.   I am not accustomed to nylon strings.   I've had to crank and crank the tuners - all the while thinking a string will POP!

  • i was misled by the gravel for a mo' , nice looking John..

  • Looks sooooo nice John!!!
