Hi guys,
As Im sure you all know, we have been quietly working away on next years main event for some time now. Hell we had to start early - how do you top Ben Prestage?!
There will be some slight changes this year, though we will be keeping true to our roots.
First big change is a new city and a new venue. In an attempt to reach a wider audience and to attract some of our fellow CBGers from 'oop norf', we are taking the show straight up the M6. To Manchester!
Im sure you all know that Mad-chester has a vibrant music scene, good road and rail links and, some great venues. Like 'Band On The Wall'. For those who dont know, Band on the Wall is a historic live music venue, so named as the bands used to play on a platform suspended half way up the wall!
Now fully refurb'd to a high standard, and run as a charitable organisation, they are very in tune with what we do. Check out their website for more info http://bandonthewall.org/
The date for your diary is Friday 7th and Saturday 8th September 2012
Again we will be running a 2 day event, with an open mic and free gig on the friday, the usual Saturday daytime tomfoolery, and then the main gig on the Sat evening.
And what a gig this will be! We already have three superb international artists confirmed, but we have one more trick up our sleeve. As soon as we know more we will post the details here!
I promise you this though.... Its going to be a blinder!
*STOP PRESS* The Friday night open mic and free Hollowbelly gig will be at;
The Salutation, 2 Higher Chatham Street, Manchester. M15 6ED
More details in the discussion....

A HUGE thanks to all came to Boxstock in Manchester...I'm still exhausted, and have a mountain of gear to clear from my office and workshop, after nearly 2 weeks touring with Mike Snowden, Blackriver Bluesman and Bad Mood Hudson...plus having Boxstock to deal with.
This year Ben took this on with enthusiasm and ambition, finding the venue and the artists, sorting out a touring schedule so that we could (just about) afford to bring the overseas performers to the UK, and I've sort of been along for the ride (1200 miles of ride in fact, touring with Mike), proffering advice and support where I could and dealing with the day-to-day stuff of finding accommodation, transport, bodging together drum kits, locating spare mic stands and gear on a Sunday afternoon and all that sort of stuff.
I know most of you don't see the work that goes on behind the scenes, and that's not really important...what does matter is that once again you've turned out and supported the event and the scene. Seems like the venue were very impressed with the whole thing and want us back in some shape or form...and Ben is already scouting out a venue and artists for next year...the madness never stops.
A HUGE thanks to you John, Ben and to all the "games makers" who helped out to make it all possible...2012 will be a hard act to follow! (-;
And think i found my long lost daddy mr dave arcari as he pulls the same beer face as me.......where's my pocket money damnit.
