I haven't seen this done before and thought you guys might be interested. I have been using these in my builds for a while now and they work quite well. The bridge can be adjusted in height to suite your frets or playing style. There are factory made
I'm currently working on 4 "paddle box" style guitars/strummers/whatever. I'm at the stage of shaping the tops and trying to decide on sound hole size and design. I've looked online at a lot of technical discussions on Helmholtz resonation and such
The guitar sounded a bit odd on the base string so I made the sound holes adjustable. The sound holes can be adjusted to have varying openings including one sound hole open and one closed. The adjustment is made via the two screws next to the sound
Hey everybody, I am building a concert scale pot lid reso uke, with a piezo pickup. My string ends will show thru the tail piece. So ball end strings may be the ticket. Can anyone recommend steel wrapped nylon strings that will tune like a uke? A
I'll start off by saying that this may not be everyone's "cup of tea" and that some people might consider this "overthinking". To that I will simply say that one person's overthinking is another person's "understanding".
You will see in the photos a new way to do a resonator. Is a copper/nikel soldering rod tin soldered on the inside of the brass bell. It makes an interesting sound. I will try to put inside how many I can.
I like the insides of the picture that heads this forum. It seems that a real attempt has been made to get the best sound out of his box (that suits him!)

I am helping my daughter build a 5-string long-neck gas can banjo. It needs a truss rod, and we are doing this the found parts and hardware store way. We have an appropriate, small mild steel bar to embed as a non-adjustable truss rod -- sort of earl

I have just cut a test neck to body joint dovetail. I made a jig from plywood to hold the pieces and templates cut from 1/4 inch plexiglass. It works! If I could get the templates cut on a CnC machine it would be perfect but I still got a passable do
I know bridge placement has been discussed, but what about the difference between the glued on bridge with the strings pegged, or hooked on like a uke or hard tail, compared to a bridge with a tailpiece and the strings pressing down on the bridge.
One of my favorite 3 string guitars has developed a buzz on the middle string on several frets. Any advice about fixing this? Am I simply locating the high frets and filing them down some?
I've been searching through the articles on this site for information on selecting the position where the bridge should be. Obviously on an unfretted instrument you can move the bridge and experiment, but on a fretted guitar, once the frets are on an
