So, I am building 50 ukuleles for the kids in my community. I am working with a local music teacher that will be providing online lessons doing all this crazy. Feel free to check out the Facebook page
I built a really nice upright bass thing from an ebay cello neck and a chunk of wood. Everything is fine except it will not stay in tune. I think either it's the cheap tailgut stretching or the design of it itself is flawed and it's bowing. The neck
Letting everyone know, that starting next Friday July 24th, the show will now start at 3:00 PM Eastern Time. That way, they can finish their work, and then have a fun time, doing their show. Hope to see you there.
I see some people embed piezo discs in the tail end of the neck under the bridge. Other folks attach them to the vibrating sound board. The bridge makes sense to me on one side, but it’s usually then butted right against the neck and not free to vibr

Like many people I use bolt bridges. however recently I've been concentrating on finger picking and find that, quite often, either of the G strings will slip across the threads. My current bridge has quite a deep thread, M8 Now this may be due to my
Does anyone have any advice on preventing or even minimizing fret sprout? I've made 4 guitars so far, and all developed fret spout to varying degrees. My most recent build almost immediately!
