  • Excellent, Rope! Enjoyed your performance and persona. Great playing and singing.

  • Another entertaining song Rope! I enjoyed the fun facts that appeared throughout. Thanks for sharing it.
  • Thanks PoornessStudios And Uncle John. Glad you enjoyed it. Nice thinkin’ of you playin’ alongside Uncle John! That’s be real nice to hear.

  • Thanks Dave Lynas for the nice words. This CBG has its own sound alright. That’s one of the pleasures of seeing’ what all everyone comes up with, because there’s so many different styles and sounds on here!

  • Those old players are really cool, A.D.’ but no, I jes’ got a cheap phonograph for the dancers to spin round the floor on. Old Victrola Dance Hall jes’ sounds cooler than Cheap Record Player Dance Hall. And that’s a Woody quote alright. I like it cause it kinda speaks to the cigar box way of thinkin’. Like you really only need one string, why would you need more’n two chords? Thanks for your comments!

  • Nice rendition of this tune Rope. Really well played and sung.

  • I was happy to see your video post with this great old song.  I was initially surprised by the growly guitar settings.  But right off I could hear they worked.   Very nice.  Vocals, play and visuals.  I picked up the cigar box mandolin next to me and played and sang along toward the end. We are two string wonders.

  • Wow Rope. I love this one. Your bassy guitar holds it together perfect. So old timey song sung well. I could feel the floorboards creaking under the shuffle of many dancers Watzing the night away. Thanks for the memory.

  • Cool and steady ! did woody say that ? then he was showing off all the time, or is that what you mean aswell? you Americans can be so cryptic sometimes !! verry creatif  how you done the dancers bit ! got to hand it to Ye ! hats Off ! do you own a Victrola? i have a Masters Voice 78  steel needels, spring operated ! love that machine from my ex mother in law, took me 5 years to restore it ! but the old Bleus records where i did restore it for are priceless, and un afordeble ! and verry hard to get ,thre is this select groep it seems in the world that own these collecteble items and they only come free when they die! to bad ! i i had known theat before hand . but still its fun to own one !

  • "If your usin' more'n two, your jes' showin' off."     -Woody Guthrie

There's also a quick look at some dancers down at the Old Victrola Dance Hall in Corsicana, one of many Texas historical dance halls.
