Thanks Wes. Thanks Uncle. I like the heavier strings for slide action. I learned that from Cindy Cashdollar. It’s like a tightrope. Much easier to do if the wire is taught. Also the tone will be better. It’s real twangy if the string is slack but more pure if tight. Uncle, thanks for the Mallard. She’s a sweet thing.
Dave, those are some really lovely sounds, tone and playing. I am glad you modified the Mallard. Good to make it your own. Good idea on using the tauter string. I may try that.
My theory on slide noise and knock is that a little is fine, maybe even good and soulful.
