  • String are tuned G-D-G bass to treble, the top one being simply an octave above the bass, 022w, 014, 010 gauges, and there's nothing really different to making them.
  • Sounds really good! You got my attention, and now I thinking about building one so here are some questions. What kind of strings and which strings are you using? And how do you tune each string? Is there anything different about building this style of CBG than building a regular style CBG (other than the scale length and fret spacing)?
  • Yes, you can bend to get sharps.
  • Awesome, that sounds great!
  • Awesome, that sound great!
  • Simple piezo disk pickup, played thru' my old Sessionette 75 combo.
  • John,

You are a master!!! I love this video. The CBG sounds wonderful and your playing is magnificent! Is there anywhere that I can find the template to lay the frets out diatonicly? Again, this is a fantastic video. Hats off to you Chickenbone John!

well I was randomly scanning the net for 3 string dulcimers to make a backpack type guitar and I stumbled upon your video a week ago...I watched stunned as I saw you pluck a cigar box (never heard of that one before...)....
I'm almost done with my first CBG thanks to your inspiration! For my late nights out in the garage, my wife thanks you too! ;) All the best! You are the sole reason I've got into this madness....
    best--
