White Owl # 3.

This was a 2 string that had nice tone, so I converted it to a 3 string- my current favorite set up. It has a short, 22inch scale. It has a buzz that seems corrected by using a capo.... Nice size, excellent volume and great fun. I LIKE this one.

  • Maddog has that one.  I remember the White Owl and Muriel Cigar commercials on TV.  Thanks, Jerry.

  • like it.,.,

  • very vintage
  • I like this alot. It looks like the sort of things  my great grandpa played.
  • The blue is just craft paint.  I wanted to remove it to relic the piece.

Jef, I am a recent fan of zero frets.  I use a jumbo for the ZERO and mediums for the rest.   I think here the buzzing comes from lack of break from the nut to the tuners.    The peg head is too short.  The buzz is small and maybe I can put a string retainer on the middle string to improve it.  Will try that.

  • this is really cool...   if the capo is defeating the buzz i'll bet you your nut slots are too deep, try a zero fret sometime

hey lonman i dyed a neck blue with ink before, check out my pics..

  • what did you use to make the blue on the stock. My 3rd build will be for my son and his theme he wants was simply, "blue". so I have some design going for it, so you can imagine I am interested in the blue stock. Thanks.
