Ha! It was in Iowa on the way to St. Louis that I was trying to see a Pilleated Woodpecker. I tromped all over Shimek Forest and did not see one.
Then driving down the road, one flew right in front of me. God has a good sense of humor to do that to me and to make woodpeckers as big as crows. Then I mention this to the St. Louis guys and that same kind of woodpecker is fairly common down there.

It was great to meet Clark (Mr. C)! We got to jam a bit and he gifted me a very nice home made 3 pole mag pup.
Interesting thing about Mr. C. He was a Sea Bee and saw a lot of the world in his service.
It was good seeing Uncle John hang out with the club today. These two got in a jam session : )
