THIS BUILD FAILED!!!!

This is before I strung it up to full tension. The strings mostly broke on the hard edge of the bottom of the bridge inside the box. If i pad them with some rubber or something I think they will hold, as some of them managed to stay anyway..

    I have managed to get some strings to full tension without breaking by padding them with leather as they go under the bridge- so it should be possible! I haven't managed to string it up completely because I ran out of strings because I broke three in quick succession in a spectacular display of stupidity.

    Yep, roller bridge is the way to go here! :o)

    how about some sort of roller system for the strings? That would certainly keep them from breaking.
