Good looking piece Uncle John. Nothing like a bit of low tech engineering to make a CBG look right. Great box too. The ten cent label on the lid offers clues to it's vintage.
I've done a few like this, and yep they're quick, easy and look cool. I'd humbly suggest putting more than one screw in the base, as it would really improve tuning stability. Nice job though!
