Good playing relic build. Sheet metal tail-piece. Yard stick fret board. Piezo. Sound hole on player side of box. Red pencil side fret markers (colored into a shallow bore with a 1/8 inch bit. Most of us start with fretless builds. I did too, more than 5 years back. But only recently have I been able to play them decently. Having fun now!

  • Yard sticks measure up, Kevin.   And it seems a bit of a shame to chop em up with frets.   But I have done it.

  • Cousins!  :)  my builds almost always have yardstick fingerboards..the older and crustier, the better.  Haven't progressed to frets yet.

  • Pat, it's possible to finger barre, etc., but I get kind of a muted sound.   I will finger where the first 3 frets would be  and then use the slide from there.

  • Yep, ya know I like the yardsticks John! Can you finger pluck without the frets, if ya got enough action break height from low-top to high-bottom it should still chord out too.

  • Me too, SD.   I just really like yard sticks.  I have about 20 yards of them and once in a while sacrifice one for a guitar.

  • Sweet! You know how I love the yardstick fingerboards!
