I set the neck at the bottom of the body and cut tongues into the face to facilitate creating different sounds by tapping on the face of the guitar. I am proud to say I was able to use all reclaimed wood on this build!

Nicely done, Bill! I made a 'box drum' or 'tongue drum' based on the ancient teponaztli of the Aztecs a few years back. It had 6 or 7 tongues of differing lengths to produce distinct tones, much like yours. In fact, I was contemplating make a combo CBG/tongue drum - - you easily beat me to it! Plus, yours looks awesome!
