I am on a diddley building trip lately, but this box just called out for me to make a 3 or 4. 3 for now. GDg. Electric strings. Oak neck. Home made sheet metal tail piece.Cheap, dirty and good pre-wired pickup. Some buzz when not being played.No sound hole. Not bad acoustic and pretty good plugged.First the action was too high at the nut and now maybe it is too low. Will play it a while and decide.Likely will gift to the right giftee.Next good chance, I think I will get back to diddley building.

Yep!, totally agree with the tailpiece concept, either metal or timber, one screw in the back holds the tailpiece, the box to the back of the thru neck, and is easy to remove and gain access to the interior of the box etc;
One of the reasons I like tail piece like this (or the hinge type) is that I can unscrew it, get the strings out of the way and more easily adjust the nut height. I also enjoy cutting the tail piece out of scrap metal.

Yup, AGP. And my stuff often needs tweaked.
