    The counter works spot on one turn of the drive pulley = one count on the winder - the counter can't miss count , everytime the pulley wheel goes round so does the off-set cam thats behind the pulley wheel which in turn moves the cam arm which pushes the counter lever down and counts one turn simple but effective !
