  • Hi Pinkie.

Thanks for the comment. The main reason for running the grain that way is that once the pickup space was cut the curly grain wouldn't show very well if it was to run the other way. I don't know if you have seen the later photos with the pickup in place.

I'm glad you like the fret marker. Please borrow whatever you like. I will be flattered.

  • That looks absolutely fantastic! I love the way the lines in the leaf run perpendicular to the figuring on the headstock. I agree with Uncle John regarding the single position marker too. I may steal borrow that idea for one of my own upcoming builds. :D

  • Hi Texmexy.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • Thanks Sweetie - Sorry, I mean Dan.

I appreciate the comment, but it could be interpreted to imply that I am about to make a dogs breakfast of it at any moment ;-). Of course that could be the case. Time will tell.

  • Thanks honey (Sorry, Uncle John).

The fretboard colour may be misleading. It is just ebony, but was photographed near a window and is probably picking up a bit of a reflection from the blue sky (we have blue skies occasionally). You are dead right about the wood. I was given some figured maple veneer. I'm glad you like the fret marker. I do too, and will probably do that on most future instruments.

  • Looking good so far love.
  • Very nice, love.   Like the fretboard color and bottom squiggle.  Beautiful peg head wood.  Looks like curly maple.  Huh.  The single fret marker looks right.
  • Hi there Juju.

Thanks for the kind comment but please don't call me "love" ;-)

  • Looking good love the detail on the end of the fretboard  nice work mate :)
