I was just given this 1860 Chickering square grand piano to take apart and recycle the rosewood for guitars and what ever else i can find to use the wood for.

After closer inspection..the spruce soundboard hs major cracks in it. After talking to a local piano tuner he said when that happens best to repurpose the wood from it...and thats what my plans are.
wow, did a quick search and I saw $2000.00+ for an 1870's model. The wood would definitely be cool, considering hard to find old wood like that and I assume the keys are ivory and ebony, are they. if you got the clients, it would be more fun making guitars and such.
