Doug, sorry for the late reply, touring through last weekend. Thanks, yes, always interesting in that each prison or jail has it's protocol and though somewhat similar not the same. We'll see. -Glenn
What a great idea Glenn! Music is always well received by the residents. It’s always a challenge getting stuff into a correctional facility. I taught for the college in several facilities for over 20 years and led worship for the chaplain for quite a few years too. I hope they approve your program.
Thx Uncle John, just a quick work w. a drill press. I kept it rough inside for better grip but still comfy and nice and hard on the strings outside. Never made one before. -Glenn
Hi A.D. :) Well here in Chicago maple is far easier to find (free from a friend too) and I have a shop available with drill press and all the drill bits, large sanding rigs and such so working with maple is easy for me here. I like the hardness for the sound of it too. -Glenn
Thanks so much Ray! Brian, the deal is I bring 'em in and bring 'em out -IF I get approved. I've submitted a 6 session history of the guitar, blues music primitive git playing (diddley bow only) to teach the rudiments of music, songs, plan to jam together and ultimately write a song or two w. a total of six men per series. We'll see if they approve. So had to come up w. kosher gits they'd likely approve. -Glenn
Kool, I made one out of ebony long ago when I still had a lathe. That’s great they can have something like that! in California that would be considered a weapon? Good thinking Glenn!!
