Altered my standard bolt on neck style CBG to accommodate a 1" PVC pipe neck. Surprising loud, not sure if it is just the box because I have never used one of these before or if the hollow neck adds some extra volume. The neck is on the chunky side but is smooth and comfortable. A fun experiment!
Bullet holes sound hole inserts seemed appropriate for this box!

Thanks for weighing in Uncle John! The neck is very stiff as the PVC is schedule 40, so I'm not concerned about it flexing, however the 3/4" PVC pipe (schedule 40) will, but will it flex too much? I'm soon going to find out since e 1" pipe does create a pretty chunky neck. Schedule 80 is stiffer, but much more expensive, so a last resort. Another corrective would be a shorter scale length, but it will force me to use steel strings because a 23" scale length is as short as I can go for standard GD tuning with fishing line strings.
Yup, the hollow neck woluld add volume. I would kind of worry about it flexing. NICELY ROUNDED neck, Doug.
I always appreciate the positive feedback BrianQ! I hope others are inspired to try out new ideas.
Another wow moment!! you nailed it Doug!!!
