    Uncle John,the holes were drilled just slightly smaller than the max. diameter of the pins.I agree with you about string removal.

    Love the paint finish and theme.   Do you use a tapered bit for those string pegs? 

    I find it advantageous to be able to remove the strings from the box end (to work on the nut or maybe fret markers, etc.)  That is why I like to use a tail piece that I can unscrew.  This looks like you made the saddle too.  super nice.
